Since he arrived from Denmark, Charlie has been with Ryan since Oct 2011. They  have both grown from strength to strength over the years since they have been together.

So far Charlie has given Ryan the opportunity to compete nationally and internationally in arenas around the world. They competed at the Young Rider Europeans in Arezzo, Italy in 2014 and managed respectable scores of 66.8% in the team test and 68.89% in the Individual at PSG level. In 2015, They competed in Rotterdam CHIO in the U25s Grand Prix posting a score of 70.04% and 73.75% in the U25 Grand Prix freestyle. At the time Ryan told the press he was delighted with a second in the Grand Prix freestyle and was "still a bit in shock on how well we managed at this show. The standard has been so strong out here and so pleased to come away with a second and a fifth!”

In 2016, Ryan and Charlie's notable appearance was the FEI U25 European Championships in Hagen, Germany. Ryan rode Charlie to a solid score of 68.763%, securing a team placing of sixth of of fourteen nations.

In 2017, Ryan and Charlie rode at the Aachen CHIO gaining a score of 66.83% for Team GBR. He was also selected to represent Great Britain at the Joosland CDI3* in Inter II, where he was fifth with 69.079% and seventh in U25 GP on 67.326% In the U25 GP Freestyle
the pairing also achieved 7th with 68.1%

Later in the year they were also selected to represent Great Britain at the Le Mans CDI, 19 - 22 October 2017. They achieved a creditable 66.10% in the U25 Inter II and super 67.20% for third in the U25 Grand Prix.

In 2018, they were selected for Lier in March and achieved second in U25 GP with 70.04%, and a fifth in the freestyle with 67.1%.

They competed in Rotterdam in June, gaining 65.7% in U25 GP and 67% in the GP Freestyle. The European Championships beckoned in August 2018 where Ryan came 15th individually in the team competition and a gaining Bronze team medal with 68.9%

At the Le Mieux National Championships, Ryan gained 9th in senior Grand Prix with 66% and came, 7th in the freestyle with 69%

Charlie loves nothing more than downtime in the field and hacking across the moors in Yorkshire.
